I really loved the cozy charm of this pub B&B and appreciated being just a few steps from the beautiful Church of St Gregory, making it easy to immerse myself in the local history while also being less than a 15-minute walk from Sturminster Newton Mill, which offered stunning views and a peaceful stroll along the river.

Got a warm welcome at this cozy inn. My room was super spacious and clean. The food? Wow! Had the chicken with chorizo, and the chips were the best I've had. Breakfast was top-notch with delicious scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Only thing is the breakfast needed to be pre-ordered, which was a bit tricky.

I was appalled by the quality of service. The pillows were enormous and caused serious neck discomfort, disrupting my sleep. To top it off, the heating in the room was off, making it uncomfortably cold at night. This was not the experience I expected, especially after anticipating a lovely stay.

the crown is a lovely spot with a peaceful annex away from the pub noise. our superior family room was enormous and beautifully decorated in keeping with its period charm. the hot breakfast was nicely cooked and served by a friendly chef. plus, the pub is linked to hardy’s novels, making it a unique stay.
